This filter reads job descriptions for language that tends to signal neurodiversity-friendly (or unfriendly) environments. It detects whether certain concepts appear — it doesn't score the job. Organizations that prioritize psychological safety, clear expectations, and sustainable work tend to say so explicitly. Absence of that language is itself informative.

1. Cognition — does the work reward how your brain processes information?

  • Complex, ambiguous problem spaces
  • Results matter more than performance style

  • Independent thinking / "constructive challenge"
  • Deep expertise development possible
Red flags

2. Energy regulation — does the environment support sustainable functioning?

  • Remote / remote-first / flexible / async
  • Flexible work policy / flexible hours

  • "Always on" / immediate response culture
  • Open plan / hotdesking
  • Excessive meeting load
  • Heavy context switching

3. Ambiguity — what kind of ambiguity is present?
Green signals
  • Ambiguous problem spaces (good)
  • Complex, undefined challenges
  • "Synthesize" / "make sense of"
  • Proactive / strategic framing
Red flags
  • Role / expectation ambiguity
  • "Thrives in ambiguity" / "zero to one"

  • "Navigate ambiguity" as a job requirement

4. Organizational psychology — does the culture reward competence and intellectual honesty?
